I wanted to respond to Alex’s complaints completely as they were 90% inaccurate.
Alex called and stated that both headlights are not working and if I could take a look it. He stated that he needs the car for work at night and is unable to see the road. He stated he himself installed aftermarket headlights and sent me the details on them.
He brought his car in with both headlights not operational. They were not dim. I could see that these headlights had connectors that were not fully compatible with his Hyundai. I forcefully inserted one headlight connector and 1 headlight was fixed and started working. I diagnosed the other headlight as having a bad ballast. I will now address his Cons by #:
#1. Alex states that I only diagnose and don’t fix. Show me one automotive shop that stocks aftermarket ballasts and I will donate 1 hour of labor time. These VLAND headlights are only available online through Amazon or eBay and it’s not like I can go to a parts store and buy parts.
#2. I only allocated 1 hour for our appointment. I had another customer waiting. I offered you another appointment free of charge. You later told me you fixed the fog light yourself and 1 wire had come loose.
#3. So you found my findings as “thin”? I diagnosed your issue 100% and told you what you had to do and you wanted deeper testing? You wanted an alternate explanation? So you wanted me to explain to you how automotive electricity works and why your VLAND headlights are defective? What deeper explanation and testing were you looking for?
#4. I accept credit cards and Zelle. I don’t accept Venmo.
Bottom line: Alex, I tried to contact you before writing this review response but you did not respond. You wrote this review 5 months afterwards. After your visit in December, I reached out to you multiple times where you stated that the new ballast fixed the other headlight. Your most recent review of another shop just shows you can never be satisfied. See his latest review of another shop below:
